Chatango is a new way to make contact with people online. It's the first tool for real-time, private, disposable, one-to-one communication. It works just like one of those IM products, but doesn't require a download, and is accessible from any computer! It works like this:

What is a contact link?
It's a hyperlink that people can click to chat to you immediately. A contact URL allows people to be connected anonymously, in real time, through their browsers. Once you have gotten your link, simply open any Nukedit page and past in the required source code. It's that easy!

Is it free?
Yes. You can sign up, create a contact URL and talk to people without charge. And we won't sell your email address to spammers either.

How do I get a contact URL?
Sign up for Chatango, and pick a screen name. Your contact URL will look like this: http://screenname.chatango.com - that's your contact URL to use wherever you post online. Spread the link around, post it in your Craiglist ads, eBay auctions, emails -- and become instantly accessible!

How do I receive messages and reply to them?
Log into Chatango and you'll see your chat window. When someone sends a message a new conversation tab will be opened. You can either reply or reject the person. To reply, type your message in the lower box and hit Enter.

If I close the Chatango browser window, will people be able to reach me then?
Not unless you download the handly little utility we built called MessageCatcher. It places a little icon in your Windows system tray which notifies you when you get a message on Chatango. When you get a message, a little alert pops up, which you can click on and start chatting immediately. Download it now. It looks something like this:

How many conversations can I have at once?
As many as you want. As each person begins to chat with you a tab is opened that refers to that conversation. Select it to see their message and if you've had enough of them, click the "X" icon to end that chat.

Can I include my contact link in emails?
Yes. It's a great way to take the correspondence into real-time - perfect for sorting things out instantly. When you the recipient clicks your contact link, you will be chatting instantly. Tip: include the link in your email signature as a convenient way for people to contact you.

Is Chatango anonymous?
When someone initiates a chat the only information available to you is the URL of the page from which they came. The only identifying information they have on you is your screen name. Your email or IP address is not disclosed. Chatango is designed to improve your online safety by allowing you to meet people without disclosing your identity. Please be cool and use it responsibly.

Can I retrieve past conversations?
No. Chatango is a disposable communication tool. If a conversation occurs that you want to save, copy and paste it as a new document before you sign out.

Is there some way to make Chatango links even more appealing?
